Credit Scoring Tips
"Raising Your Credit Scores"
By Pat Killeen
Louisville, KY- When disputing credit accounts you should remember that disputing accounts worse than I1, R1, or M1 (talk to Pat on reading these codes) bring the highest returns, when trying to raise your credit scores. Additionally, disputing public record accounts, collection accounts, profit and loss accounts, charge offs, repossessions, foreclosures (even if they are rated as a 1) can bring significant returns and produce higher credit scores. If a really bad account is rated a 1, for example, only dispute that account if there are plenty of other good accounts on your credit report. Use major credit cards with balances lower than 30% to increase scores. Pay balances in full every 14 days to avoid finance charges. Never close out a credit card account that has a good payment history because that particular payment history is what you want in a well balanced credit portfolio and you don’t want it ignored.
